IT MIGHT be startling to see a bishop suddenly appear in full
canonicals in your railway carriage, but all would be explained by
an accompanying choir's singing Christmas carols. The Bishop of
Dorchester, the Rt Revd Colin Fletcher, led a small choir from St
Andrew's C of E Primary School, and members of the Chinnor
Christian Aid group, for an evening of carols on a steam train on
the Chinnor and Princes Risborough heritage railway, in
Oxford diocese. They were raising money for
Christian Aid.
The Bishop met all the volunteers who run the railway, and told
them how much he had enjoyed his ride behind the splendid steam
locomotive.
