From the Revd Toby Crowe

Sir, - Like 83 per cent of clergy, I think the parish system at its best is a good thing (News, 10 October). But in a survey that, as described, seemed to suggest that 17 per cent of the clergy don't believe in a personal God, and that nine per cent think that "no one can know what God is like," was this the most newsworthy thing? It felt a little as if your reporter and headline-writer had swallowed the gnat, but not really noticed the camel.
