Shiver me timbers! The Bishop of Bermuda, the Rt Revd Nick Dill, is "taken hostage" and made to walk the plank by the "Pirates of Bermuda", in Hamilton Harbour, Bermuda, on Sunday. The Pirates event is organised by the Bermuda Sloop Foundation, as part of its fund-raising for the "Spirit of Bermuda" sail-training programmes. Friends and family choose to donate either towards a hostage's ransom - or towards a walk off the plank. Some participants manage to raise enough money to avoid walking the plank; most are summarily "forced" to jump into the harbour, however. Last year's event raised more than $100,000.
