Lead our team working across 8 secondary and 65 primary schools (28 academies in 5 MATs) to deliver, in collaboration with other Diocesan leaders, the Diocesan vision of Growing Disciples: Wider, Younger, Deeper within the framework of the Church of England’s vision for education.
We are looking for a vicar who is excited by the joys and challenges of rural ministry, who will inspire and sustain us in prayer and teaching, and help us engage with our local communities.
St John’s has a very high number of occasional offices, especially baptisms and funerals. Many people in the town continue to see the church as a focal point for these occasions, yet do not engage with the church at any other time.
We seek a minister who will lead our parishes in the next stage of our mission and ministry. All Saints has a large, thriving congregation, with modern, excellent facilities; St Edwin’s is a welcoming village church, with a beautiful, ancient building; St Mary’s is becoming a Festival Church.
This is a pivotal role, leading the virging team to ensure the Cathedral offers a warm welcome to visitors and worshippers alike, providing support for religious services and special events, being responsible for security and ensuring the Cathedral is clean and tidy.
