Paul Vallely is a writer, broadcaster, and consultant who specialises in philanthropy, business ethics, and international development. He is a Senior Honorary Fellow at the Global Development Institute at the University of Manchester. He has worked in newspapers, broadcasting, and with aid agencies, government, business, and church organisations for four decades. He is the author of Philanthropy – from Aristotle to Zuckerberg and two papal biographies: Pope Francis: Untying the Knots and Pope Francis - The Struggle for the Soul of Catholicism. Other books include The New Politics: Catholic Social Teaching for the 21st century and Bad Samaritans: First World Ethics and Third World Debt.
