Connection: a new Holy Week and Easter radio campaign was launched last week to “promote Jesus over AI counsellors”. SaltSellers UK, a charity that seeks to represent the Christian faith in the mainstream media, commissioned creative work from Chas Bayfield, who was behind the 1999 “Che Jesus” poster campaign (“Meek. Mild. As if”) for churches. The producer Mark Kuilenburg and the charity’s founder Ali Burnett also worked on the radio campaign. “So many people are now using AI to answer the big questions,” Mr Bayfield said last week. “I do feel that, as human beings, we long for connection, and a relationship with a machine is ultimately unsatisfying. Christians believe that prayer offers a genuine two-way solution.” The adverts will be heard until 6 April across the UK on channels owned by Global, depending on funding by churches and individuals, the charity said.
