THE Ven. Karen Hamblin, Archdeacon of East Derbyshire, since 2022, is to retire on 30 September. The archdeaconry was created as part of a restructure in 2022. The new archdeacons were to “champion mission and ministry” in different contexts across the whole diocese (News, 14 April 2022).
Archdeacon Hamblin was ordained deacon in 2007 and has served all her ministry in Derby diocese, in parishes and as Rural and Area Dean. She has been an Hon. Canon of Derby Cathedral since 2017. She will become Archdeacon Emeritus.
