Canon Christopher Hall writes:
CANON Robin Gill’s obituary covered Dr Ted Harrison’s prolific contribution on important topics (Gazette, 17 January). While his kidneys were failing, Ted was working with Florence Li Tim-Oi to write her biography, Much Beloved Daughter, which was published by DLT in 1985, the year after Florence had shared in the 40th-anniversary celebration in Westminster Abbey of her priesting. Ted’s book did not sell well at the time, but has become a valuable resource as the ordination of women has since spread through the Anglican Communion. It was published at £1.95, a secondhand copy is now on sale for £35.
The Revd Stephen Anderson writes: Besides being an academic of considerable renown, the Revd Andrew Macintosh (Gazette, 31 January) was also a skilled liturgist with a pastoral heart. He and his wife, Mary, supported St Clement’s, Cambridge, opposite his beloved St John’s College, through some of a considerably long interregnum. He ably offered the mass in its English Missal format, and his sermons were always arresting expositions of the Prayer Book Gospel readings. When I became Priest-Vicar in 2014, but needing occasionally to be absent on a Sunday, I always knew that the parish was in good hands.
