MORE than £9000 has so far been raised to help ordinands in Africa: the focus, for the fifth Lent running, of the Church Times Train-A-Priest (TAP) Fund appeal. With just more than three weeks left of Lent, we are some way off reaching last year’s total of about £45,000.

All donations, however large or small, would be received with gratitude. As we never tire of reminding our readers, every single penny goes to ordinands as they prepare for ministry in challenging conditions: our administration costs are zero.

Thanks to a large legacy, TAP grants continue to be available to any English ordinands who experience financial difficulties. (These are disbursed by the Ministry Division.)
