Sunderland post

THE next Archdeacon of Sunderland, in Durham diocese, is to be the Revd Katherine Bagnall, Priest-in-Charge of St Mary the Virgin and St Peter’s, Sunderland, since 2010, Hon. Canon of Durham Cathedral since 2022, and an Assistant Archdeacon in the diocese since January.

She took the North East Ordination Course and was ordained priest in 2006. She served two curacies in Durham diocese, before taking up her incumbency.

She succeeds the Very Revd Robert Cooper, now Dean of Guildford (News, 4 October 2024), and will be installed in the autumn.

BENNETT. The Revd Stephen Bennett, NS Assistant Curate of Brockenhurst, to be NS Associate Priest of Brockenhurst and of Boldre and South Baddesley (Winchester).

COLLINS. The Revd Dr Earl Collins, Vicar of St John the Baptist, Hove, Diocesan Continuing Ministerial Development Officer, and Canon and Prebendary of Chichester Cathedral, to be Canon Chancellor of Chichester Cathedral (Chichester).

GALVIN. The Revd Linda Galvin, NS Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of St James’s, West End, now also Assistant Area Dean of Eastleigh (Winchester).

GEORGE. The Revd Gillian George, Assistant Curate in the Northmoor Team Ministry, to be Priest-in-Charge of the South Tamar Mission Community (Exeter).

HAM-RICHE. The Revd Emma Ham-Riche, Priest-in-Charge of St John’s, Preston, with St Augustine and St Saviour, Brighton, Rural Dean of Brighton, and Associate Archdeacon-elect for Diversity and Inclusion, to be also Hon. Canon and Prebendary of Chichester Cathedral (Chichester).

HAYCOCK. The Revd Edward Haycock, Assistant Curate of Basingstoke, to be Assistant Curate of Oakley with Wootton St Lawrence (Winchester).

IRVINE-CAPEL. The Rt Revd Luke Irvine-Capel, Bishop of Richborough (Provincial Episcopal Visitor) (Canterbury), and Hon. Assistant Bishop (Peterborough and Norwich), to be also Assistant Bishop (Chelmsford).

MOSS. The Revd Sarah Moss, Assistant Curate of St Andrew’s, Leytonstone, to be Vicar of the Theydon Parishes (Chelmsford).

NORBURY. The Revd Robert Norbury, Senior Liturgical Chaplain to the Bishop of Chichester, and Deputy Diocesan Director of Vocations, to be also Hon. Canon and Prebendary of Chichester Cathedral (Chichester).

RACE. The Revd Andrew Race, Vicar of Castle Donington and Lockington cum Hemington, and Area Dean of Akeley East (Leicester), to be Vicar of St Mary and St James and St Hugh’s, Grimsby (Lincoln).

ROBERTSON. The Revd Simon Robertson, Joint Area Dean of Southampton, now Area Dean, remaining Vicar of Bitterne Park (Winchester).

WILLIAMS. The Revd Dr Harri Williams, Vicar of Walsingham, Houghton and Barsham, and Priest-in-Charge of Hempton and Pudding Norton (Norwich), to be Principal of St Stephen’s House, Oxford.

WALES

ROBINSON. The Revd Hannah Robinson, Priest-in-Charge of St John the Evangelist, Moulsham, and Chaplain of Anglia Ruskin University (Chelmsford Campus) (Chelmsford), to be Vicar in the Heart of Monmouthshire Ministry Area (Monmouth).

SCOTLAND

EDWARDS. The Revd Dr Jane Edwards, Assistant Curate of St Baldred’s, North Berwick, and of St Adrian’s, Gullane (Edinburgh), now Associate Priest.

SPENCE. The Revd Janet Spence, Assistant Curate of St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh, to be Rector of Holy Cross, Davidson’s Mains, Edinburgh (Edinburgh).

STEWART. The Revd Audrey O’Brien Stewart to be Priest-in-Charge of St Cyprian’s, Lenzie (Glasgow & Galloway).

LAY APPOINTMENT

SAWYER. Christy Sawyer to be Diocesan Warden of Lay Ministry (Blackburn).
