Sheffield archdeaconry

THE next Archdeacon of Sheffield and Rotherham is to be the Revd David Gerrard, Vicar of East Wakefield, in Leeds diocese, since 2018, Area Dean of Wakefield since 2019, and an Hon. Canon of Ripon Cathedral since 2023. He trained for ministry at Trinity College, Bristol, and was ordained priest in 2013. He served his title in Blackburn diocese, before taking up his first incumbencies in Leeds diocese in 2016.

In Wakefield, he founded the Every Good Work youth and social-action project. He is also the author of Creation to new Creation: Daily readings and reflections from Genesis for Lent, published in 2023.

He will be installed in the autumn, and succeeds the Rt Revd Malcolm Chamberlain, now Bishop of Wakefield (News, 21 March).

 

BARRETT. The Revd Neil Barrett, NS Assistant Curate of Cranham Park, to be NS Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of Warley and Great Warley (Chelmsford).

BLACKWELL. The Revd Rhoda Blackwell, Priest-in-Charge of Newbold with Dunston (Derby), to be Vicar.

HAYDON. The Revd Catherine Haydon, Assistant Curate (Associate Curate) of Scotforth (Blackburn), to be Vicar.

INGLIS. The Revd Kelvin Inglis, Rector of St Thomas and St Edmund, Salisbury, to be Priest-in-Charge of Amesbury (Vicar-designate of Amesbury Abbey), remaining Canon and Prebendary of Salisbury Cathedral (Salisbury).

KELLY. The Revd Neil Kelly, Team Vicar in the Wareham Team Ministry (Salisbury), now Team Rector.

MATTHEWS. The Revd Anita Matthews, Priest-in-Charge of St Peter and Christ Church with Holy Trinity, Derby (Derby), to be Vicar.

MOSHER. The Revd James Mosher, Mission to Seafarers Chaplaincy Team Leader in Southampton, to be Vicar of St Mary’s, Harrow on the Hill, and Assistant Chaplain of Harrow School (London).

PERRY. The Revd Dr Michael Perry, Vicar of the Woodford Valley with Archers Gate Benefice, now also Assistant Rural Dean of Stonehenge (Salisbury).

POPPLETON. The Revd Julian Poppleton, NS Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of Harnham, and Bishop’s Adviser for Associate Ministry (Salisbury), now Chaplain of Winchester Cathedral (Winchester).

RENGERT. The Revd Helen Rengert, formerly Team Rector in the Reepham and Wensum Valley Team Ministry, Chaplain of Reepham High School, and Assistant Diocesan Director of Ordinands (Norwich), to be Vicar of St John the Baptist and St Edmund’s, Felixstowe (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich).

ROUNDTREE. The Revd Clabern (Clay) Roundtree, Assistant Curate (Associate Rector) of Grantham and of South Grantham, to be Diocesan Director of Ordinands and Vocations (Lincoln).

SIMMONDS. The Revd Wayne Simmonds, Assistant Curate of St Benedict’s, Bordesley, St Cyprian’s, Hay Mill, Yardley, and South Yardley (Birmingham), to be part-time Diocesan Racial Justice Officer, and part-time Assistant Curate of St Peter’s, Huddersfield (Leeds).

STANLEY. The Revd Melanie Stanley, Assistant Curate of Chalgrove with Berrick Salome (Oxford), to be Vicar of Walgrave with Hannington, Wold and Scaldwell (Peterborough).

TAYLOR. The Revd Sally Taylor, Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of the Poole Missional Communities, now Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of Poole (Salisbury).

WASHBROOK. The Revd Daniel Washbrook, Assistant Curate of Creekmoor, now Rector of Kinson (Salisbury).

WOODBRIDGE. The Revd Thomas Woodbridge, Assistant Curate of Eastrop (Winchester), now Associate Minister.

YILDIRIM. The Revd Engin Yildirim, Team Vicar in the Wood Green with Bounds Green Team Ministry, to be Vicar of St John’s, Southall Green (London).

WALES

BYRNE. The Revd Tracey Byrne, Priest-in-Charge of Carrington (Southwell & Nottingham), to be Priest-in-Charge in the Alyn Mission Area (St Asaph).

CLARKE. The Revd Jennifer Clarke, Leader of Bro Eleth Ministry Area (Bangor), now Priest-in-Charge in the Rhos a Mynydd Mission Area (St Asaph).

DALE. The Revd Emma Dale, Assistant Curate in the Alyn Mission Area, now Assistant Curate in the Mold Mission Area (St Asaph).

EVANS. The Reved Annalise Evans, Assistant Curate in the Alyn Mission Area, to be Assistant Curate in the Bryn a Môr Mission Area (St Asaph).

FRASER. The Revd Juliet Fraser, Priest-in-Charge in the Aberconwy Mission Area, now NS Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) in the Denbigh Mission Area (St Asaph).

McGARRIGLE. The Revd Noel McGarrigle, Interim Vicar of Helsby and Dunham-on-the-Hill (Chester), to be Priest-in-Charge in the Aled Mission Area (St Asaph).

PIERCY. The Revd Simon Piercy, NS Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) in the Rhos a Mynydd Mission Area (St Asaph), to be Priest-in-Charge.

QUINLAN. The Revd Darren Quinlan, Assistant Curate of Rochdale, of Deeplish and of Newbold (Manchester), now Priest-in-Charge of Deeside Mission Area (St Asaph) (correction).

THOMAS. The Revd Dr Cass Meurig Thomas, Assistant Curate in the Valle Crucis Mission Area, to be Pioneer Priest in the Tanat-Vyrnwy Mission Area (St Asaph).

TURNER. The Revd Christopher Turner, Vicar of Borough Green (Rochester), now Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) in the Cedewain Mission Area (St Asaph).
