New archdeacon

THE next Archdeacon of Reigate, in the diocese of Southwark, is to be the Revd Dr Geoffrey Dumbreck, Vicar of the South Croydon Benefice (St Peter’s, Croydon, and St Augustine’s, South Croydon) and Area Dean of Croydon Central, in the same diocese. He is also a tutor in Christian doctrine on the Southwark Diocesan Bishop’s Certificate Course. In early 2025, he served as Acting Archdeacon of Croydon. He took his doctorate in theology at Cambridge before training for ordination at Ripon College, Cuddesdon. While serving his title in parishes in Cambridge, he was also assistant chaplain of Peterhouse. He succeeds the Rt Revd Moira Astin, now Bishop of Crediton, in Exeter diocese (News, 6 June).

COWAN. The Revd Sophie Cowan, Priest-in-Charge of St Mary’s, Stoke, Ipswich (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich), to be Rector.

DAWSON. The Revd Phillip Dawson, Assistant Curate of St Giles-in-the-Fields, Holborn, to be Rector of St Olave Hart Street with All Hallows Staining and St Catherine Coleman, London (London).

EASTERBY. The Revd Jane Easterby, Chaplain of the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust (Durham), to be Chaplain of the Northumbria NHS Foundation Trust (Newcastle).

ELY. The Revd Nigel Ely, Senior Chaplain of Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (York), to be Chaplain of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (Coventry).

FOX. The Revd Elizabeth Fox, NS Assistant Curate of St John the Baptist and St Andrew’s, Ipswich (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich), to be NS Associate Priest.

GAU. The Revd Justin Gau, NS Assistant Curate of St Paul’s, West Hackney, to be Hon. Assistant Curate of St Mary’s, Bourne Street, Pimlico (London), remaining Deputy Diocesan Chancellor (Bath & Wells and Lincoln), Diocesan Chancellor (Bristol), and Diocesan Chancellor and Hon. Canon of St Edmundsbury Cathedral (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich).

GRIEVES. The Revd Nicola Grieves, NS Assistant Curate of Barrow (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich), to be Rector.

HERBERT. The Revd Christopher Herbert, Rector of Tankersley, Thurgoland and Wortley, and Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of the Cornerstone Benefice, and of Penistone and Thurlstone, now also Area Dean of Tankersley (Sheffield).

LAWTON. The Revd Jason Lawton, Assistant Curate of Roch Valley, Bury, to be Vicar of Hillock and Unsworth (Manchester).

LINDLEY. The Revd Danie Lindley, Rector of Gateshead Fell and Windy Nook, to be also Hon. Canon of Durham Cathedral (Durham).

MAUGHAN. The Revd Stephen Maughan, formerly in the RC Church, to be Assistant Curate of St Mary’s, Selby (York).

McNEIL. The Revd Kyle McNeil, Rector of Blackhall, Castle Eden and Monkhesleden, and Vicar of Horden, to be also Hon. Canon of Durham Cathedral (Durham).

MULLANEY. The Revd Dr Daniel Mullaney, Assistant Curate of Kersal Moor, to be Diocesan Head of Clergy Development (Manchester).

MUSSON. The Revd Helen Musson, formerly Assistant Curate of Christ Church, Orpington (Rochester), now Interim Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) in the Great Aycliffe Team Ministry (Durham).

NODDINGS. The Revd Keri Noddings, Priest-in-Charge of St Jude’s, Peterborough, to be also Chaplain of Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (Peterborough).

NOLES. The Revd Jeremy Noles, Rector of Langdon Hills (Chelmsford), to be Chaplain of HM Prison Thameside.

OLIVER-HEMMINGS-FAYE. The Revd Lewis Oliver-Hemmings-Faye, Assistant Curate of the Holy Family, Failsworth, now Vicar of St Paul’s, Royton, and of St James with St Ambrose, Oldham (Manchester).
