Repton retirement

THE Rt Revd Malcolm Macnaughton, the Bishop of Repton, in Derby diocese, since 2021, is to retire on 30 April. He began his ministry in Durham diocese in 1981, before moving to London and then Oxford dioceses, where he served as both an incumbent and an area dean. From 2007 to 2020, he was the Archbishop of York’s Chief of Staff. As a suffragan bishop, he has worked with the Parish Support Team and the Board of Education. The Bishop of Derby, the Rt Revd Libby Lane, said: “He is a generous, gentle, and gracious colleague, whose servant leadership has been transformative for me in my ministry and for our common life.” He will be retiring to Gloucester.

Lincoln archdeaconry

THE Ven. Alyson Buxton, Archdeacon of Stow and Lindsey, in Lincoln diocese, since 2022 is to retire at the end of the year. She was ordained priest in 2003, served her title in Lincoln diocese, where she served in parishes until 2012. She was Ely Diocesan Director of Ministry from 2013 to 2014, before becoming Team Rector in the Boston Team Ministry, back in Lincoln diocese. In 2021, she was seconded as Diocesan Director of Resourcing Sustainable Church and led the implementation of Time to Change Together.
