Lincoln post

THE next Archdeacon of Stow and Lindsey, in Lincoln diocese, is to be the Revd Eleanor Robertshaw, Team Rector in the Great Snaith Team Ministry, in Sheffield diocese, since 2013, and an Hon. Canon of Sheffield Cathedral since 2022. She trained on the Yorkshire Ministry Course and was ordained priest in 2011. She served her title at St Mary’s, Stainforth, also in Sheffield diocese. Before ordination, she taught in a multi-ethnic school in Rotherham. She succeeds the Ven. Alyson Buxton, who retires at the end of the year.

Hastings archdeacon

THE new Archdeacon of Hastings, in Chichester diocese, is the Ven. Russell Dewhurst, who was an Acting Archdeacon of Chichester this year. He trained at Westcott House, Cambridge, and was ordained priest in 2004. He served his title in Oxford diocese, was the Web Pastor of i-church, an online Fresh Expressions project in the same diocese, before becoming Priest-in-Charge of St Frideswide’s, Oxford, with Binsey, and Assistant Chaplain of Exeter College, Oxford. He served as Vicar of St Mary the Virgin, Ewell, in Guildford diocese, from 2009 until 2021. Since then, he has officiated in Chichester diocese. He has a degree in physics, and, before ordination, worked as an IT consultant. He is completing a doctorate in canon law.

BALDWIN. The Revd Michael Baldwin, Assistant Curate of the Upper Weardale Benefice (Durham), to be Chaplain of HM Prison Deerbolt.

BARKER. The Revd May Barker, Rector of North Mundham with Merston and Hunston (Chichester), to be part-time Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of Hayling Island (Portsmouth).

BARRY. The Revd Emily Barry, Assistant Curate of Ribbleton, to be Vicar of St James’s, Leyland (Blackburn).

BOWLER. The Revd Neil Bowler, Rector of St Mary’s Priory Church, Bridlington, to be also Area Dean of Bridlington (York).

BRENNAN. The Revd Damien Brennan, now NSM of Alfriston with Lullington, Litlington, West Dean and Folkington (Chichester), now house-for-duty Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar).

CAVALCANTI. The Revd Joabe Cavalcanti, Vicar of St Barnabas’s, Mitcham, to be Vicar of Christ Church and St John the Evangelist, Clapham (Southwark), remaining Hon. Canon of Rio de Janeiro Episcopal Anglican Cathedral (the Episcopal Anglican Church of Brazil).

CHAPMAN. The Revd Ruth Chapman, Vicar of St Matthew’s, Croydon, to be also Area Dean of Croydon Central (Southwark).
