The Shem Tov Bible (Castile, 1312), one of the most significant manuscripts taken from Hebrew scriptures to survive from medieval Spain, is to be auctioned in New York, on Tuesday. Sotheby’s gives a guide estimate of $5,000,000-7,000,000. It was produced by the scholar Rabbi Shem Tov ben Abraham Ibn Gaon, and is richly illuminated with Christian and Islamicate ornamental motifs
