Last Friday Southwark Cathedral hosted its second Big Cathedral Knit in partnership with Craft Forward (Diary, 13 September). More than 2500 people visited the cathedral to enjoy Christmas crafts and carols. Among them were more than 1000 knitters and crocheters who put together hundreds of blankets as part of Craft Forward’s Blankets for London project. These blankets will be distributed to those who are homeless in London this winter. Overnight, Rob Rinder joined 80 others in sleeping outside Southwark Cathedral to raise money for the Robes Project, supporting the homeless in London
