Rochester archdeaconries

THE diocese of Rochester has appointed two interim archdeacons and three associate archdeacons.

The Ven. Michael Lodge, Priest-in-Charge of Kemsing and Woodlands, in Rochester diocese, since 2021, is now also Interim Archdeacon of Tonbridge. He was ordained priest in 1990, served his title in Bristol diocese, before taking up posts in Gloucester and Chelmsford dioceses. He was Archdeacon of Southend from 2017 until 2021.

The Interim Archdeacon of Rochester is the Revd Dr Andrew Davey, Vicar of Milton next Gravesend since 2021. He was ordained priest in 1988 and served his title in Southwark diocese, where he was also Ministry Development Officer for the Woolwich Area Mission Team, and an Hon. Chaplain of Southwark Cathedral. He has also served as Assistant Secretary for the Archbishops’ Council Board for Social Responsibility, and National Adviser on Community and Urban Affairs.

The associate archdeacons are the Revd Victoria Pask, Vicar of St Mark’s, Bromley, since 2019, Area Dean of Bromley since 2019, and Canon Emeritus of Exeter Cathedral, for Bromley and Bexley; and the Revd Nicholas Cornell, Rector of Christ Church, Southborough, since 2019, and Area Dean of Tunbridge Wells since 2023, and the Revd William North, Rector of Barming with Teston since 2022, and Area Dean of Malling since 2019, both for Tonbridge.

 

ASTON. The Revd Heather Aston, Rector of the Boscastle Group (Truro), to be Chaplain of the Good Shepherd, Poitou-Charentes, with Champagne-Mouton, Chef Boutonne, Civray, Courcelles and Saint-Jean-d’Angély, France (Europe).

BAREHAM. The Revd Rowland Bareham, NS Assistant Curate of Great Cornard (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich), to be Associate Priest.

BARTON. The Revd Andrew Barton, Army Chaplain (Royal Army Chaplains’ Department), now Assistant Curate (Priest-in-Charge) of the West Tone Benefice (Ashbrittle, Bathealton, Kittisford, Rockwell Green, Sampford Arundel, Stawley and Thorne St Margaret) (Bath & Wells).

BELLOWS. The Revd Dr Philippa Bellows, Assistant Curate in the West Dartmoor Mission Community, to be Rector of Brixham with Churston Ferrers and Kingswear (Exeter).

BUTCHER. The Revd Michelle Butcher, Assistant Curate of Chaffcombe, Cricket Malherbie with Knowle St Giles, Tatworth, Thorncombe and Winsham, now Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar) of Minehead (Bath & Wells).

CLAMPIN. The Revd Amanda Clampin, Assistant Curate of Kingsdown, to be Vicar of the Bradbourne Benefice (Rochester).

EATON. The Revd James Eaton, Assistant Curate of St Peter’s, Walthamstow, now also Chaplain of Whipps Cross University Hospital, in Barts Health NHS Trust (Chelmsford).

GREEN. The Revd David Green, Team Vicar in the Kent Downs and Malling Team Ministry, now Vicar of St Luke’s, Tunbridge Wells (Rochester).

HAWTHORNE. The Revd Juanita Hawthorne, NS Assistant Curate of the Grimshoe Benefice (Ely), now NS Associate Priest.

JERRETT. The Revd Nicholas Jerrett, Assistant Curate of the Blackdown Benefice, now Rector of Chard with Combe St Nicholas, Wambrook and Whitestaunton (Bath & Wells).

JOHNSON. The Revd Dr Louis Johnson, Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of St Mary with St John and St Anne, Lancaster (Blackburn), to be Vicar of Great Crosby and Waterloo Park (Liverpool).

LLOYD-EVANS. The Revd Charlotte Lloyd-Evans, Priest-in-Charge of St Mary’s, Greenhithe, and of St Peter and St Paul, Swanscombe, now also Area Dean of Swanscombe (Rochester).

MABHUNU. The Revd Patrick Mabhunu, NS Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar) of Shrivenham and Ashbury (Oxford), to be Vicar.

NELSON. The Revd Michael Nelson, Vicar of Holy Trinity, Gillingham, to be also Area Dean of Gillingham (Rochester).

OROBOR. The Revd Leo Orobor, Assistant Curate of Yaxley, to be Assistant Curate of Huntingdon (Ely).

PEARSON-SMITH. The Revd Danielle Pearson-Smith, Rector of Snodland, to be also Area Dean of Malling (Rochester).

RAWLINS. The Revd Nicola Rawlins, formerly NS Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of the Victory Benefice (St Barnabas’s, Gillingham, and St Mary Magdalene’s, Gillingham), to be Priest-in-Charge of Burham and Wouldham (Rochester).

SANDERS. The Revd Jon Sanders, Assistant Curate of Cherry Hinton (Ely), now Associate Minister.

SANDERSON. The Revd Sarah Sanderson, Assistant Curate of Trendlewood Conventional District and of Wraxall, now Assistant Curate (Pioneer Associate Vicar) of Preston Plucknett and of Thorne Coffin and Lufton, in Tintinhull with Chilthorne Domer with Yeovil Marsh and Thorne Coffin and Lufton (Bath & Wells).

SMITH. The Revd Ian Smith, Rector of St Peter’s, Warmsworth, Priest-in-Charge of Wadworth with Loversall and Balby, and Hon. Canon of Sheffield Cathedral (Sheffield), to be Rector of the Harwich Peninsula Benefice (Chelmsford).

SQUIRES-DUTTON. The Revd Susan Squires-Dutton, NS Assistant Curate of St Augustine’s, Wisbech, and St Peter and St Paul, Wisbech (Ely), to be NS Assistant Priest.

THOMAS. The Revd Richard Thomas, Vicar of St Philip’s, Tunbridge Wells, to be also Area Dean of Tunbridge Wells (Rochester).

OWEN. The Revd Edward Owen, Vicar in the South Cardiff Ministry Area, now Vicar for New Worshipping Communities in the Garth Ministry Area (Llandaff).

SIMPSON. The Revd Mark Simpson, Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar) of Citizen Church, Cardiff (Llandaff), now Vicar.
