A new exhibition, “Am I My Brother’s Keeper?” by the sculptor Sean Henry, opens this weekend in Ely Cathedral. Mr Henry has placed 20 polychrome figures in unusual spaces such as vacant plinths inside and outside the building. The figures, inspired by real people, are intended to offer a sense of multi-generational history, and to explore what it means to be human. The show has been curated by the cathedral’s visual-arts adviser, Jacquiline Creswell, who said: “In a world so often plagued by division and indifference, the question ‘Am I my brother’s keeper?’ can be interpreted as an enquiry into one’s moral responsibility towards others.” The exhibition runs until 1 September
