Cheltenham move

THE Ven. Philip Andrew, Archdeacon of Cheltenham, in Gloucester diocese, since 2017, is to step down on 31 December. He and his wife will be moving to the south-east “to begin a new chapter”. Archdeacon Andrew trained at St John’s College, Nottingham, and served his title in Oxford diocese. He was Vicar of St Mary Magdalene’s, Reigate, and an Hon. Canon of Southwark Cathedral before taking up his current post.

Rochester archdeacon

THE Ven. Andrew Wooding Jones, Archdeacon of Rochester since 2018, has resigned his post to move back to Sheffield. During his tenure, he supported the diocese through change brought about by the pandemic and a vacancy-in-see, and served as diocesan safeguarding lead. He also chaired the management group of both the St Benedict’s Centre and the Kent Workplace Mission.

Archdeacon Wooding Jones trained at Oak Hill Theological College, and served his title in Rochester diocese. He held parish posts in Sheffield and Chichester dioceses, and was Director of the World Prayer Centre, in Birmingham.

His wife, Margaret, has served as an LLM in the diocese and provided support for clergy partners and spouses.

Archdeacon Wooding Jones is now Archdeacon Emeritus.
