Rochester posts

THE next Archdeacons of Rochester and Tonbridge have been announced. Prebendary Sandra McCalla, Chaplain to the Bishop of London, and Prebendary of St Paul’s Cathedral since 2021, is to be Archdeacon of Rochester. After a career as a barrister, she trained for ministry at Westcott House, Cambridge, and was ordained deacon in 2012.. She has served all her ministry in London diocese, and set up and developed the Wilfred Wood Leadership Programme for Global Majority Heritage clergy.

The Revd Nicholas Cornell, Rector of Christ Church, Southborough, since 2019, and Associate Archdeacon of Tonbridge, is to be Archdeacon of Tonbridge. He worked for a major accountancy firm before training ministry at Oak Hill Theological College. He was ordained deacon in 2008 to a title post at All Saints’, Eastbourne, in Chichester diocese. He then served in that diocese as incumbent and joint Acting Archdeacon of Hastings. He moved to Rochester diocese in 2018.

 

ASIEGBU. The Revd Eucharia Asiegbu, Assistant Curate of St John the Evangelist, Sidcup, with Footscray, now Vicar of St Mary’s, Plaistow (Rochester).

BARKER. The Revd Adele Barker, Bishop’s Chaplain, now also Interim Chaplain to Retired Clergy in Derby City and South Derbyshire Archdeaconry (Derby).

BENNETT. The Revd Peter Bennett, Assistant Curate of St Andrew with St John the Baptist, All Saints’ and St Peter’s, Crewe (Chester), now Team Rector in the Salford Team Ministry (Manchester).

BETTS. The Revd Jordan Betts, Assistant Curate of Wadsley, on secondment to Bradfield (Sheffield), to be Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of St Mary’s Longfleet (Salisbury).

BOURNE. The Revd Sarah Bourne, formerly NS Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of St Mary’s, Banbury, now Rector of Woodstock and Bladon (Oxford).

CAMERON. The Revd Dr Andrew Cameron, NS Assistant Curate of Lamberhurst and Matfield, to be Interim Priest-in-Charge of Brenchley (Rochester).

GUEST. The Revd Sharon Guest, Team Vicar in the Roach Team Ministry, to be Vicar of St Osyth and Great Bentley, and Priest-in-Charge of Weeley and Little Clacton (Chelmsford).

HAWES. The Very Revd Joe Hawes, Dean of St Edmundsbury Cathedral, now also Diocesan Warden of Readers (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich), remaining Hon. Canon of the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, Gaborone (Botswana, Central Africa).

HERSCHELL. The Revd Karen Herschell, Vicar of Balderstone, Mellor and Samlesbury, to be Rector of the Hodder Valley Benefice, and Diocesan Rural Renewal Officer (Blackburn).

HILL. The Revd Naomi Hill, Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar) of Slough, now Priest-in-Charge of Britwell (Oxford).

JONES. The Revd Andrew Jones, Assistant Curate in the Blackrod, Daisy Hill, Westhoughton and Wingates Team Ministry, now Team Rector in the Seven Saints Team Ministry (Manchester).

KEITH. The Revd Dr Elisabeth Keith, Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar and Liberal Theologian) of St Mark’s, Broomhill, Sheffield, to be Vicar, and Priest-in-Charge of Walkley, Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of Ranmoor, and Oversight Minister of the Three Spires Mission Area (Sheffield).

MADUKA. The Revd Nnamdi Maduka, Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of Denham, now Vicar of Waltham St Lawrence and Shottesbrooke (Oxford).

McCLELLAN. The Revd Andrew McClellan, Vicar of St John the Evangelist, Bromley, now also Area Dean of Bromley (Rochester).

MEDLICOTT. The Revd Rebecca Medlicott, Assistant Curate of All Saints’, Wokingham, now Chaplain of Shiplake College, Henley-on-Thames (Oxford).

MONK. The Revd Dr Paul Monk, Vicar of Clarksfield and Waterhead, and Assistant Curate of Oldham Moorside, now Team Rector in the Ashton-under-Lyne Team Ministry (Manchester).

NEWBOLD. The Revd Stephen Newbold, Vicar of Bucklebury, and Priest-in-Charge of Bradfield and Stanford, now Team Rector in the Bradford, Bucklebury and Stanford Dingley Team Ministry (Oxford).

PUTNAM. The Revd Jeremy Putnam, Diocesan Mission Enabler, to be also Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) in the Crediton Mission Community (Exeter).

REYNOLDS. The Revd Mandy Reynolds, Team Vicar in the Wilford Peninsula Team Ministry, to be also Rural dean of Woodbridge (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich).

SLINGSBY-LUNN. The Revd Philippa Slingsby-Lunn, Interim Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of Allerton, of Clayton, of Fairweather Green and of Thornton, to be part-time Priest-in-Charge of Eccleshill (Leeds).

VALLENTE-KERR. The Revd Susan Vallente-Kerr, Assistant Curate (Pioneer Minister) of Frindsbury with Upnor and Chattenden, of St Nicholas with St Mary, Strood, and of St Francis’s, Strood, to be Vicar of St Nicholas with St Mary, Rochester (Rochester).

VAUGHAN. The Revd Catherine Vaughan, Vicar of Owlsmoor (Oxford), now Chaplain of Lee Abbey (Exeter).

WISDOM. The Revd Jeremy Wisdom, Assistant Curate in the Eccles Team Ministry (Manchester), now Team Rector.

WYMAN. The Revd Caroline Wyman, Assistant Curate of St John the Baptist, Eltham (Southwark), to be Priest-in-Charge of Clifton, Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of Herringthorpe and of Whiston, and Oversight Minister of the R2 Mission Area (Sheffield) (diocesan correction).
