Sunday 1.15pm (BBC1) Songs of Praise Claire McCollum visits St Winwaloe’s, in Gunwalloe, Cornwall, the “church of storms”, where Christians have worshipped for more than 1000 years.

9pm (BBC4) Mozart’s Requiem Opera North, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Jazzart Dance Theatre, and Cape Town Opera present a dance staging of the work, filmed at Leeds Grand Theatre last September (repeat).

9.50pm (BBC4) Mozart’s Great Mass at the Proms John Butt conducts the Dunedin Consort in a live performance at the Royal Albert Hall on 6 August 2023 (repeat).


RADIO:
Sunday 8.10am (R4) Sunday Worship The Rector of Holy Trinity, Melrose, the Revd Philip Blackledge, talks with Alastair McIntosh about the spiritual silence of the Quaker tradition, in a service marking a festival of music.

3pm (R3) Choral Evensong A repeat of this week’s service live from Gloucester Cathedral, to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Gustav Holst.

Tuesday 9.30am (World Service) Assignment A look at how the US “pro-life” movement has gained ground with the help of Evangelical Christianity.

7.30pm (R3) Radio 3 In Concert Nigel Short conducts the choir Tenebrae in a programme on the theme of rest, recorded on 17 July at Ampleforth Abbey, as part of the Ryedale Festival.

Wednesday 3pm (R3) Choral Evensong Live from Pershore Abbey, sung by the choir of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge.

3.30pm (R4) The Artificial Human A journey into the world of “AI Slop”: mass-produced images on social platforms, such as “Shrimp Jesus” (1/6).
