CHARD. — On 21 July, the Revd Reginald Jeffrey Chard: Vicar of Hirwaun (1971-74); Hon. Assistant Curate of Stechford (1974-78); Team Vicar in the Banbury Team Ministry (1978-86); Industrial Chaplain (1986-2009); Priest-in-Charge of Claydon with Mollington (1986-96); Rector of Ironstone (1996-2009); aged 83.

DUDLEY-SMITH. — On 12 August, the Rt Revd Timothy Dudley-Smith: Head of Cambridge University Mission, Bermondsey (1953-55); Hon. Chaplain to the Bishop of Rochester (1953-60); Education Secretary of the Evangelical Alliance (1955-59); Assistant Secretary of the Church Pastoral Aid Society (1959-65); Secretary (1965-73); Archdeacon of Norwich (1973-81); Suffragan Bishop of Thetford (1981-91); aged 97.

HARPER. — On 29 July, the Revd Dr Joseph Frank Harper: Assistant Curate of St Mary’s, Lancaster (1983-87); Vicar of St Aidan’s, Bamber Bridge (1987-92): Kinsley with Wragby (1992-99); Rector of Newhaven (1999-2004); aged 86.

HICKLING. — On 31 July, the Revd John Hickling: Assistant Curate in the Melton Mowbray Team Ministry (1969-71); Team Vicar (1971-75); Rector of Waltham-on-the-Wolds with Stonesby and Saltby (1975-84); Rector of St Andrew with St James, Aylestone (1984-93); Husbands Bosworth with Mowsley and Knaptoft and Theddingworth (1993-96); aged 90.
