Short notice: Christ’s Seven Words from the Cross by John Mann

JOHN MANN is a former Dean of St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast, awarded the Lambeth Cross for Ecumenism in 2018. His book Christ’s Seven Words from the Cross is based on his preaching on them over more than 30 years, and reflects this ecumenical spirit. It is published by the Jesuits, and commended jointly by the Bishops of Derry & Raphoe and (Roman Catholic) Derry. Its descriptive and contemplative qualities take the reader to the heart of the Passion, they write. “John helps us to understand Good Friday as a junction, indeed the junction point, in our lives” (Messenger Publications, £10.95 (£9.85); 978-1-78812-675-5).
