RADIO: Friday 11.30am (World Service) Heart and Soul Esther Ogola visits a Christian-run hospice in Kenya, where speaking of death before it happens is taboo.

Sunday 8.10am (R4) Sunday Worship The Priest-in-Charge of St Olave’s, York, Canon Liz Hassall, preaches on the theme of calling, applying the idea of vocation to all of life.

3pm (R3) Choral Evensong A repeat of this week’s live service from St Matthew’s, Westminster.

Thursday 7.30pm (R3) Radio 3 in Concert In a concert from the Barbican, in London, on 15 December, Ryan Wigglesworth conducts his setting of the Magnificat, which alludes to those by J. S. Bach and Monteverdi.
