COOPER. — On 23 March, the Revd Michael Sydney Cooper: Assistant Curate of the Cathedral of the Resurrection, Lahore, Pakistan (1970-71); Personal Assistant to the Bishop of Mauritius and Priest-in-Charge of St Clement’s, Curepipe, Mauritius (1972-73); Curate-in-Charge of St Peter’s Conventional District, Hayling (1974-81); Vicar of St Mary’s, Carisbrooke (1981-92); St Nicholas’s, Carisbrooke (1981-92); Hartplain (1992-98); Portchester (1998-2006); Rural Dean of Fareham (1999-2004); Hon. Canon of Portsmouth Cathedral (2002-06); aged 82.

DURWARD. — On 5 January, the Revd Rosemary Durward: NSM of St John’s, Notting Hill (2010-12); aged 65.

HAYWARD . — On 3 May, the Revd John Talbot Hayward: Rector of Lamyatt (1958-71); Vicar of Bruton with Wyke Champflower and Redlynch (1958-71); Rural Dean of Bruton (1962-71); Rector of St John’s, Weston-super-Mare (1971-75); Prebendary of Wells Cathedral (1973-2003); Rector of Weston-super-Mare Central (1975-92); aged 95.

HEDGES. — On 12 April, the Revd John Michael Peter Hedges: Vicar of St Peter’s, Ashton (1965-74); Assistant Curate of Easthampstead (1974-85); Vicar of St George’s, Tilehurst (1985-91); Assistant Curate of Thatcham (1991-94); Team Vicar (1994-99); aged 90.

SHERWIN. — On 13 April, the Revd Margaret Miriam Sherwin: Deaconess of St Alban’s, Holborn, with St Peter’s, Saffron Hill (1983-87); Parish Deacon (1987-88); St Michael’s, Highgate (1988-93); Hon. Assistant Curate of Purbrook (1993-99); aged 91.

THORNTON. — On 28 April, the Revd Timothy Charles Gordon Thornton: Tutor of Lincoln Theological College (1964-68); Chaplain (1966-68); Lecturer of Pacific College, Suva, Fiji (1969-73); Chaplain of Brasted Place College, Westerham (1973-74); Canon Missioner of Guildford Cathedral (1974-79); Priest-in-Charge of Hascombe (1974-79); Vicar of Chobham with Valley End (1979-84); Vicar of Spelsbury and Chadlington (1984-87); Chadlington and Spelsbury, Ascott under Wychwood (1987-2000); aged 88.
