Monday 9pm, BBC2

 

TELEVISION: Sunday 1pm (BBC2) Songs of Praise Katherine Jenkins meets creative Christians in Torbay, and discovers the history of Torre Abbey.

Tuesday 10.45pm (ITV1) The Hajj: A journey to Mecca Shehab Khan explores the historical context of the pilgrimage, hears personal experiences and reflections, and joins Muslims at Mecca, in Saudi Arabia, for the six-day event.

 

RADIO: Friday 11.30am (World Service) Heart and Soul Antonia Bolingbroke-Kent joins Sipa Melo, a shaman in the shadow of the Himalayan Mountains, for a week of ritual, including ceremonies to mark deaths and births.

Sunday 8.10am (R4) Sunday Worship The Bishop of Llandaff preaches on the parable of the sower, and on the theme of growth and fruitfulness, in a service live from Margam Abbey, south Wales.

3pm (R3) Choral Evensong A repeat of this week’s service from St Giles Cripplegate, London, sung by the BBC Singers, and recorded on 29 June.

Monday 11am (R4) Don’t Log Off Alan Dein connects on social media with, among others, a deputy head teacher in Northern Uganda, and a young Ugandan RC missionary working in the DRC (3/3).

Wednesday 4pm (R3) Choral Evensong From Chichester Cathedral during the Southern Cathedrals Festival, recorded on 14 July.
