Thursday 9pm (C5) The King’s Guard: Serving the Crown The Household Cavalry prepares for a service of thanksgiving in honour of the King, in Edinburgh, in July.

 

RADIO: Friday 11.30am (World Service) Heart and Soul An African gay-rights activist explains why he is still Christian.

Sunday 8.10am (R4) Sunday Worship On the first Sunday of Advent, the Dean of Chapel of St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, the Revd Ally Barrett, leads a live service exploring God’s justice towards the earth.

Monday-Friday 12pm (R3) Composer of the Week: A medieval Christmas Music from the Middle Ages, including works written for the Feast of Fools and in honour of Mary (1-5/5).

Monday 8pm (R4) South Africa: The children of paradise Three decades after the end of the apartheid, Fergal Keane returns to see what happened to the hopes and promises of a better nation (1/3).

9.30pm (R3) Compline A service for the first week of Advent from Corpus Christi RC Church, Leeds.

Wednesday 4pm (R3) Choral Vespers from Our Lady of Victories, Kensington, sung by Schola Cantorum of Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School. Recorded on 30 November.
