Croydon archdeacon

THE next Archdeacon of Croydon is to be the Revd Gregory Prior, Vicar of All Saints with Holy Trinity, Wandsworth, in Southwark diocese, since 2006. He succeeds the Ven. Dr Rosemarie Mallett, who is to be the next Area Bishop of Croydon.

Mr Prior was born in South Africa and ordained deacon in 1996, serving in the Church of England in South Africa for several years. In 2001, he became Minister for Missions and Evangelism of St James’s, Muswell Hill, in London diocese, before moving to his current parish in 2004 to serve as Priest-in-Charge. He was Area Dean of Wandsworth from 2013 to 2018, and Acting Archdeacon of Wandsworth this year, while the Ven. John Kiddle was on sabbatical. He is also Chaplain of the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability.

He is married to Judith, with whom he has three children. He supports Chelsea F.C., enjoys watching rugby, plays the guitar and saxophone, and sings. He also has a keen interest in interior design and architecture.

ADELAJA. The Revd Adebowale Adelaja, NS Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of All Saints’, Fulham (London), to be Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of All Saints with Holy Trinity, Loughborough (Leicester).

BASTIDAS. The Revd Victoria Bastidas, Assistant Curate of Yiewsley, now Priest-in-Charge of Cowley (London).

BRYDON. The Revd Dr Michael Brydon, Chaplain to the Bishop of Sodor & Man, now also Priest-in-Charge of St Matthew the Apostle, Douglas (Sodor & Man).

EGGLESTON. The Revd Patrick Eggleston, Team Rector in the Thamesmead Team Ministry, and Woolwich Episcopal Area Ecumenical Adviser, to be also Area Dean of Plumstead (Southwark).

FERNANDES. The Revd Joseph Fernandes, Vicar of St Hilda’s, Ashford, and Area Dean of Spelthorne, now also Diocesan Chaplain for the Gypsy, Traveller and Roma Community (London).

HARRIS. The Revd Joshua Harris, NS Assistant Curate of St George-in-the-East with St Paul, now also NS Priest-in-Charge of St Katharine Cree, London (London).

HAYNES. The Revd Jonathan Haynes, Assistant Curate in Putney Team Ministry, to be Team Vicar in the Mortlake with East Sheen Team Ministry, remaining Diocesan Vocations Adviser (Southwark).

HILDITCH. The Revd Rachel Hilditch, Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of Hampton (Ely), to be Vicar.

JEANS. The Revd Eleanor Jeans, Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar) of Christ the King, Kettering (Peterborough), to be Interim Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of St Paul’s, Leamington Priors (Coventry).

JOHNSON. The Revd Simon Johnson, Assistant Curate of South Harrow, to be Vicar of Wealdstone (London).

KELLOW. The Revd Richard Kellow, Team Vicar in the Duston and Upton Team Ministry, to be Mental Health Chaplain in the Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Peterborough).

MARSHALL. The Revd Amanda Marshall, Priest-in-Charge of Baxenden, and Curate-in-Charge of St James’s and St Paul’s, Accrington, now Vicar of St John the Baptist, Baxenden, and St Paul’s, Accrington (Blackburn).

MORROW. The Revd Keri Morrow, Assistant Curate of St Mary’s, Boongate, Peterborough, to be Priest-in-Charge of St Jude’s, Peterborough (Peterborough).

PLUMB. The Revd Stephen Plumb, NS Assistant Curate of Homerton (London), now Chaplain of HM Prison Swaleside.

RHODES. The Revd Abigail Rhodes, Assistant Curate of Finham, to be Interim Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of St Laurence’s, Foleshill (Coventry).

RITCHIE. The Revd Dr Angus Ritchie, NS Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar) of St-George-in-the-East with St Paul, now also NS Assistant Curate (Assistant Priest) of St Katharine Cree, London (London), remaining Hon. Canon of Worcester Cathedral (Worcester), and Director of the Centre for Theology and Community.

ROBERTS. The Revd Jonathan Roberts, Vicar of St Michael and All Angels with All Souls with Emmanuel Church, Camberwell, Woolwich Episcopal Area Parish Development Adviser, and Chaplain to Ark All Saints’ Academy, Camberwell, to be also Area Dean of Southwark and Newington (Southwark).
