Emma Prestage (age unknown), South Africa
Artwork depicting the impact of the climate crisis and made by children around the Anglican Communion was on display in Lambeth Palace on Wednesday as part of the Lambeth Conference Climate Day. Click on the gallery for more images.
The artwork was submitted by churches and schools as part of the project Letters for Creation. Christian Aid’s Children and Young People’s Project Officer, Josh Grear, has been co-ordinating the project. He said: “With the majority of delegates being older men, one thing largely missing from the Lambeth Conference is the perspective of young people. So we wanted to bring their voice to the heart of the meeting through their artwork, to share their concerns about climate justice, which is affecting young people in climate vulnerable communities more than anyone.”
Letters for Creation is an ongoing project, and churches and schools are invited to take part. caid.org.uk/letters4creation
