TELEVISION: Sunday 1.15pm (BBC2) Songs of Praise Katherine Jenkins meets creative Christians in Torbay, Devon, and discovers the history of Torre Abbey.

Monday 10pm (C4) Good Grief with the Revd Richard Coles The presenter looks at bereavement and how to live with loss, including taking a “grief cruise”.

Tuesday 9pm (BBC4) Seven Days in Summer: Countdown to Partition The events of the week in August 1947 which led up to the Partition of India, seen in archive footage (R).

 

RADIO Sunday 10.30am (World Service) Heart and Soul: The Bible, Black Women, and Brazil Before the forthcoming election in Brazil, Lebo Diseko reports on the women who previously helped to elect Jair Bolsonaro as President.

Monday to Friday 1.45pm (R4) Larkin Revisited The Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage, looks at the work of Philip Larkin in his centenary year (1-5/10).

Tuesday 8pm (R4) From Kabul to Manchester Emily Wither reports on the months that she spent with families who fled Afghanistan after the Taliban’s return to power, and settled in Manchester.

Wednesday 4pm (R3) Choral Evensong from Eton College, sung by members of the Rodolfus Choral Course. The service was recorded on 29 July.
