HIGHLIGHT: Charles: Our new King The first of a two-part documentary that explores pivotal moments in the life of King Charles III, using rare royal archive and interviews (1/2). (A programme with the same title is on ITV on Wednesday.) Saturday 8pm, Channel 4

 

TELEVISION: Sunday 1.15pm (BBC1) Songs of Praise The presenter Sean Fletcher embarks on a journey across London and South Wales, visiting people who have helped to shape his faith.

Wednesday 8pm (BBC1) The Repair Shop One of the items for repair is a small mosaic cross that saved the life of a young soldier.

9pm (ITV) Charles: Our new King Tom Bradby presents a profile of King Charles III, speaking to his close friends and people who worked with him.

 

RADIO: Friday 2.45pm (R4) Why Do We Do That? Ella Al-Shamahi explores the origins of a broken heart, revealing how “heart pain” occurs in many languages (1/10).

Saturday 12.05pm (World Service) The Documentary A look at Amsterdam’s secret world of sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

Sunday 8.10am (R4) Sunday Worship In the second of four programmes broadcast from the highest peak of each UK nation, Anna Magnusson and Alastair McIntosh visit Ben Nevis and are drawn to the story of Jesus’s transfiguration.

Wednesday 4pm (R3) Choral vespers from the Office for the Dead, live from Leeds Cathedral on All Souls’ Day, with music by Duruflé and Guerrero.
