Ely diocese

THE Ven. Hugh McCurdy, Archdeacon of Huntingdon and Wisbech, in Ely diocese, since 2005, is to step down on 18 April. He will continue to support the implementation of Living Ely 2025 and the Market Towns Project. He will also chair the Strategic Implementation Group, taking responsibility for the integration of the Buildings Oversight Board and the Market Towns Board into this new group. He was ordained priest in 1986, served his title in Guildford diocese, and has served in Ely diocese since 1991.

 

Archdeacon retires

THE Ven. Dr Paul Wright, Archdeacon of Bromley and Bexley, in Rochester diocese, since 2003, is to retire on 31 March. Archdeacon Wright was ordained priest in 1980 and served his title in Rochester diocese, before taking up a curacy and school chaplaincy in Southwark diocese. He returned to Rochester diocese in 1985 to hold several incumbencies, become a rural dean, and Bishop’s Adviser for Inter-Faith Concerns. He has been an Hon. Canon of Rochester Cathedral since 1998.
