EDITED by T. A. Woolford and A. C. Young, God’s Church for God’s World: Faithful perspectives on mission and ministry is a pre-Lambeth ’22 book of Evangelical views, only just out (IVP, £19.99 (£18); 978-1-78974-224-4). On the C of E, it has essays, Ros Clarke (laity) and two clerics, Andrew Goddard and Woolford, plus interviews with Bishops Sophie Jelley, Julian Henderson, and Rod Thomas. Clergy “stories and perspectives” follow: Sam Haigh, Charles Lamont, Esther Prior, Sophie Bannister, and Rachael Marszalek. Finally, there are pieces on Wales (Dean Aaron Roberts), Scotland (David McCarthy), and leaving the C of E and “alternative Anglicanisms” (Peter Sanlon).
Out just in time for the Lambeth Conference, from the US, is Building Dialogue: Stories, scripture, and liturgy in international peacebuilding, edited by Robert S. Heaney and John Y. H. Yieh with Jean Cotting. It is the result of a three-year project by a community of scholars and practitioners from across the Anglican Communion, and includes the work of 28 other contributors (Seabury Books, £28.99; 978-1-64065-588-1).
