TELEVISION: Sunday 10.30am (BBC1) My Life at Christmas with Sally Phillips Shirley Ballas, of Strictly Come Dancing, discusses joy and sorrow (3/3).

1.15pm (BBC1) Songs of Praise Claire McCollum visits Hever Castle, in Kent, and then joins a local school for their annual Christingle service.

Tuesday 8pm (BBC1) The Repair Shop at Christmas The Revd Stephen Stewart brings a rocking horse that belonged to his late daughter, Tamsin (repeat).

8pm (Sky Arts) The Mystery of the Nativity Waldemar Januszczak explores the famous story, as portrayed by artists through the centuries.

 

RADIO: Sunday 8.10am (R4) Sunday Worship A service for the Fourth Sunday of Advent, led by the Revd Emily Hyland. The preacher is the Revd John Davey, who reflects on the difference between light and darkness.

10.30am (World Service) Heart and Soul Faranak Amidi talks to three Iranian women, exploring religion, personal faith, and state controls on religious practices in Iran.

3pm (R3) Choral Evensong A repeat of this week’s service from Tewkesbury Abbey, recorded on 1 December.

Wednesday 4pm (R3) Choral Evensong A service from Blackburn Cathedral to mark the bicentenary of the birth of the composer César Franck. It was recorded on 12 December.
