Interim archdeacon

THE Revd Dr Nicholas Thistlethwaite, Hon. Priest-Vicar of Ely Cathedral since 2017, is to be Interim Archdeacon of Huntingdon and Wisbech. Dr Thistlethwaite was ordained priest in 1980 and served his title in Newcastle diocese. He served as a college chaplain and incumbent in Ely diocese, before becoming Precentor and then Sub-Dean of Guildford Cathedral. He is also a former Chaplain to the Queen. He takes up post from the Ven. Hugh McCurdy (Gazette, 28 January).

 

Isle of Wight post

THE Ven. Alison Kerr, Archdeacon of the Meon since 2021, and Vicar of St Cuthbert’s, Portsea, since 2019, is to be also Acting Archdeacon of the Isle of Wight, in Portsmouth diocese, from 1 April. She succeeds the Ven. Peter Leonard, who is to become Chief Executive of Family Links: The Centre for Emotional Health (Gazette, 14 January).

COWELL. The Revd Anthony Cowell, formerly Assistant Curate of New Bury with Great Lever, to be Assistant Curate of Farnworth, Kearsley and Stoneclough (Manchester).

DAVIS. The Revd Emily Davis, Chaplain of the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, and NS Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of Huntingdon, to be Priest-in-Charge of Whittlesey, Pondersbridge and Coates (Ely).

FRASER. The Revd Dr Giles Fraser, Rector of St Mary’s, Newington, to be Vicar of St Anne’s, Kew (Southwark), remaining Hon. Canon of Sefwi-Wiawso, Ghana (Ho, West Africa).

GIBBS. The Revd Fiona Gibbs, formerly Vicar of St Luke’s, Hedge End, and Hon. Canon of Winchester Cathedral, to be Chaplain of the University of Winchester (Winchester).

GREEN. The Revd Marcus Green, Rector of Steeple Aston with North Aston and Tackley, to be Chaplain of Worcester College, Oxford (Oxford).

HACKETT. The Revd Richard Hackett, Priest-in-Charge of Darby End and Netherton, to be also Priest-in-Charge of Dudley Wood and Cradley Heath (Worcester).

LEWIS. The Revd Dr Hannah Lewis, Team Leader of Pastoral Services for the Deaf Community (Liverpool), now Chaplain among Deaf People (Oxford).
