Dean of St Albans

THE Revd Abigail Thompson, Sub-Dean and Canon Residentiary of St Albans Cathedral since 2018, is to be Acting Dean. She was ordained priest in 2007 and served in Sheffield diocese before taking up her current post. The current Dean, the Very Revd Dr Jeffrey John, is moving to France to take up a post at St George’s, Paris (News, 18/25 December 2020).

 

Bristol archdeacon

THE Revd Michael Johnson, formerly Residentiary Canon and Acting Dean of Bristol, is now Associate Archdeacon in the diocese of Bristol.

 

BRADBURY. The Revd Jane Bradbury, Priest-in-Charge of South Weald, to be Vicar, remaining as Chelmsford Archdeaconry Ordination Adviser (Chelmsford).

BROWN. The Revd Andrew Brown, Assistant Curate of Widford, to be Assistant Curate of East Springfield (Chelmsford).

COLLINS. The Revd Debra Collins, Vicar of Billesley Common, now also Priest-in-Charge of Highters Heath (Birmingham).

GOWLER. The Revd Simon Gowler, NS Assistant Curate of St Cross’s, Cross Town, Knutsford, to be Vicar of Rainow with Saltersford and Forest (Chester).

HUPFIELD. The Revd Timothy Hupfield, Assistant Curate of the East Vale and Avon Villages Benefice (Worcester), now Vicar of Low Marple (Chester).

KEAN. The Revd Jacqueline Kean, Assistant Curate of St Augustine’s, Whitchurch, and St Paul’s District in Bedminster, now Assistant Curate of St Aldhelm’s, Bedminster, and St Paul’s, Southville (Bristol).

KESTEVEN. The Revd Elizabeth Kesteven, Vicar of All Saints’ and St Mary’s, Fishponds, now also Interim Joint Area Dean of Bristol City (Bristol).

LEIGHTON. The Revd Simon Leighton, Assistant Curate of Lawrence Weston and Avonmouth, now Assistant Curate of Shirehampton (Bristol).

SIMPSON. The Revd Thomas Simpson, Assistant Curate of Fremington, Instow and Westleigh (Exeter), to be Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar) of St Matthew’s, Cambridge (Ely).

The Revd Matthew Southcombe, Assistant Curate of St Augustine’s, Whitchurch, and St Paul’s District, Bedminster, with particular responsibility for St Nicholas’s Resourcing Church (Bishop’s Mission Order), now Assistant Curate of St Aldhelm’s, Bedminster, and of St Paul’s, Southville, and of St Nicholas’s Resourcing Church (Bishop’s Mission Order) (Bristol).

STAZIKER. The Revd Catherine Staziker, formerly Minor Canon of Sheffield Cathedral, to be house-for-duty Priest-in-Charge of Cloughton and Burniston, and of Ravenscar and Staintondale (York).

STEPHENSON. The Revd David Stephenson, Vicar of St Saviour with St Mary, Cotham, and St Paul’s, Clifton, now also Interim Joint Area Dean of Bristol City (Bristol).
