Leeds archdeaconries

THE Ven. Peter Townley, Archdeacon of Pontefract, is to be also Acting Archdeacon of Halifax, in Leeds diocese. He takes over from the Ven. Dr Anne Dawtry who retires on 31 October (Gazette, 21 May). Archdeacon Townley was ordained priest in 1981 and served in Manchester and St Edmundsbury & Ipswich dioceses, before taking up his current post in 2014.
