Canon Christopher Hall writes:

THE Revd Mark Thompson-McCausland, who died on 7 February, was a Citroën devotee. When we stayed with him in the early 1970s, he had an ingenious DIY project to repair his Citroën’s rusted floor pan. On the vicarage garage floor, he had laid a thick single mattress, on which he was to put layers of fibreglass to be treated with epoxy resin. He would then drive the Citroën over the mattress and use its hydropneumatic suspension to lower it onto the fibreglass. We didn’t hear the result of its next MOT.
