OAKES. — On 3 December, the Revd Leslie John Oakes: Chaplain
of Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham (1960-64); Perpetual Curate of Long­bridge (1964-68); Vicar (1968-93); Hon. Canon of Birmingham Cathed­ral (1984-93); aged 93.

John Norton Patterson: Rec­tor of Ballintoy (1972-78); Rathlin (1972-78); Dunseverick (1978) Ballin­toy with Rathlin and Dunsev­erick (1978-2005); Missions to Seamen Chap­­lain (1972-2000); Mission to Seafarers (2000-05); Canon of Belfast Cathedral (1997-2005); Arch­deacon of Dalriada (2001-05); aged 82.

SMITH. — On 8 December, the Revd Lorna Cassandra Smith: Dea­­con­­­ess of Birchington with Acol and Minnis Bay (198-92); Parish Deacon (1987-92); Assistant Curate of Addle­stone (1992-97); Vicar of Engle­field Green (1997-2005); aged 78.
