FLOATE. — On 17 March, the Revd Herbert Frederick Giraud Floate: Curate-in-Charge of Anse Royale, Seychelles (1961); Assistant Master of Carrer’s Grammar School, Sleaford (1963-65); Hon. Assistant Curate of Quarrington with Old Sleaford (1963-65); Priest-in-Charge of Mareham-le-Fen (1965-66); Assistant Chaplain of Christ Church Grammar School, Claremont, Western Australia (1966-67); Lecturer at the University of Western Australia (1967-72); Rector of Harlaxton with Wyville and Hungerton (1972-74); Stroxton (1972-74); Lecturer of Shenstone New College, Worcestershire (1974-78); Priest-in-Charge of St George’s, Redditch (1978-79); Rector of Upton Snodsbury and Broughton Hackett with the Flyfords and North Piddle (1984-89); aged 95.

NIXON. — On 28 February: the Revd Annette Rose Nixon: Oxford Diocesan Youth Officer (1984-90); Parish Deacon of St Peter’s, Earley (1988-93); Olney with Emberton (1993-94); Assistant Curate (1994-96); Priest-in-Charge of Worminghall with Ickford, Oakley and Shabbington (1996-2000); aged 83.

SHEPHERD. — On 27 March, the Revd David Shepherd: Chaplain of St Paul’s Cathedral, Dundee (1968-73); Dundee University (1973-79); Rector of St Mary Magdalene’s, Blinshall Street, Dundee (1979-2020); Episcopal Chaplain of Ninewells Hospital, Dundee (2009-20); aged 78.

TAYLOR. — On 25 March, the Revd Brian Taylor: Perpetual Curate of St John the Baptist, Spalding (1960-61); Assistant Master of Spalding Grammar School (1954-61); Chaplain (1957-61); Principal of St Columba’s School, Miri, Sarawak, Borneo (1962-65); Chaplain and Tutor of Batu Lintang College, Kuching, Borneo (1965-68); with USPG (1968-69); Vicar of St Gabriel’s, Leicester (1969-74); Rector of St Nicolas’s, Guildford (1975-93); Guildford Diocesan Inspector of Schools (1975-93); received into the RC Church; aged 89.
