Am I alone in wondering that if we clergy could just be a bit more sensitive, a bit gentler, a bit kinder to each other, instead of piling in with judgment in public when a grievance or difference of opinion is spotted, it might make a difference to our mental well-being?

Gareth, as ever, you are absolutely right. But of course the only way to achieve this is to begin with ourselves. Which is what I’m trying to do today. And tomorrow. And in all the tomorrows God gives me. Let us endeavour to be a more Christlike Church.
