YOUR obituary of Colin Mawby (Gazette, 6 December) reminds me of a story of his time at Westminster Cathedral. He had a slight speech impediment affecting the consonant R and, at a rehearsal, was heard to call down to the choir from the organ: “Now gentlemen, Worwate coeli, and don’t forget to woll all the Rs!”
