Dorchester archdeacon

THE new Associate Archdeacon of Dorchester is to be the Revd David Tyler, Rector of Hanborough and Freeland since 2011, and Assistant Archdeacon of Dorchester, in Oxford diocese, since 2018.

Mr Tyler was ordained priest in 2004 and served his title in Leicester diocese, before moving to Hanborough, as Priest-in-Charge, in 2007. He is a member of the Diocesan Audit Committee, has served as Area Dean of Woodstock twice, been a governor of two church schools, and is a board member for the Eynsham Partnership Academy.

He is married to Catherine, a clinical psychologist, with whom he has two children.

He takes up his post on 24 February, and will be installed as an Hon. Canon of Christ Church, Oxford, tomorrow.

BELL. The Revd Evelyn Bell, formerly Chaplain of HM Prison Highpoint, to be half-time Rector of Bansfield (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich).

BOND. The Revd Lawrence Bond, Hon. Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of Frinton, and Area Dean of St Osyth, to be also Hon. Canon of Chelmsford Cathedral (Chelmsford).

BRINKLEY. The Revd Penelope Brinkley, NS Assistant Curate of St John the Baptist and St Edmund, Felixstowe, to be NS Associate Priest, remaining Assistant Diocesan Spiritual Director of Cursillo (St Edmundsbury & Ipswich).

BRITTON. The Revd David Britton, Vicar of St John the Baptist, Leytonstone, and Area Dean of Waltham Forest, to be also Hon. Canon of Chelmsford Cathedral (Chelmsford).
