SUE STANTON’s Child’s Guide to the Stations of the Cross, with full-page colour illustrations by Anne Catharine Blake, is aimed at ages five to nine. The meditations are followed by the traditional invitation to pray the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Gloria Patri, and a modern adaptation of the hymn Stabat Mater; from an American publisher (Paulist Press, £10.99 (£9.99); 978-0-8091-6786-9).

For young children and adults to read together, Fiona Boon has written The Story of Easter, illustrated by Dawn Machell (Authentic Media, £1.99 (£1.80); 978-1-78893-043-7): a colourful booklet with a rhyming text.
