Berkshire archdeacon

THE new Archdeacon of Berkshire, in Oxford diocese, is to be the Revd Stephen Pullin, Vicar of Reading Minster since 2015, Assistant Archdeacon of Berkshire since 2017, an Hon. Canon of Christ Church, Oxford, and Acting Archdeacon since September (Appointments, 1 November).

Canon Pullin says his priorities will be to help parishes “to connect meaningfully with the Common Vision focus areas and use them to help with the projects that work in their contexts”, and the well-being of clergy, churchwardens, congregations, parish staff, and volunteers.

Canon Pullin trained at Trinity College, Bristol, and served in Bristol diocese from 2004 to 2014, including as Bishop’s Adviser for Deliverance Ministry. He moved to Oxford diocese in 2014, as Priest-in-Charge of Reading Minster. He is married to Sarah, and they have three sons.

He will be licensed and collated on 29 February 2020.

ARMSTEAD. The Revd Paul Armstead, Priest-in-Charge of Milton, and Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of the Holy Spirit, Southsea (Portsmouth), and Hon. Canon of Ho, Ghana (Ho, West Africa), to be also Associate Area Dean of Portsmouth (Portsmouth).

ATKINSON-JONES. The Revd Susan Atkinson-Jones, Team Vicar in the Sanderstead Team Ministry (Southwark), to be Priest-in-Charge of Green Street Green and Pratts Bottom (Rochester).

BARKER. The Revd Adele Barker, Assistant Curate of St Philip and St James, Chatham, to be Priest-in-Charge of Fawkham and Hartley (Rochester).

BLUNDEN. The Revd Jeremy Blunden, Rector of St George and St Barnabas, Beckenham, Bishop’s Adviser for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Concerns, and Hon. Canon of Rochester Cathedral, to be also Area Dean of Beckenham (Rochester).

BRADLEY. The Revd Wendy Bradley, Assistant Curate (Associate Curate) of Apsley (Southwell & Nottingham), to be Vicar of Bilton-in-Holderness and of Sutton-in-Holderness (York).

CHANDLER. The Ven. Ian Chandler, formerly Archdeacon of Plymouth (Exeter), to be Vicar of All Saints’, East Finchley (London).

CHAUDHARY. The Revd Jaisher Chaudhary, NS Assistant Curate of St Michael and St Peter, Handsworth, and NS Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of Handsworth Good News Asian Church Propriety Chapel, to be also Hon. Canon of Birmingham Cathedral (Birmingham).

GENTRY. The Revd Michael Gentry, formerly Vicar of Langton Green, to be Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar) of Westerham, and Area Dean of Sevenoaks (Rochester).

GRUNDY. The Revd David Grundy, formerly Rector of Snettisham with Ingoldisthorpe and Fring (Norwich), to be house-for-duty Assistant Curate (Associate Minister) of Abinger and Coldharbour and Wotton and Holmbury St Mary (Guildford).

HARBAGE. The Revd Matthew Harbage, part-time NS Interim Priest of St Mark’s, Regent’s Park, London, to be Vicar of St Paul’s, New Southgate (London).

HOLME. The Revd Thomas Holme, Rector of Penshurst and Fordcombe, now also Priest-in-Charge of Chiddingstone with Chiddingstone Causeway (Rochester).

LENTON de DICKIN. The Revd Patricia Lenton de Dickin, Rector of Mereworth, Wateringbury and West Peckham, to be Team Vicar in the South Gillingham Team Ministry (Rochester).

LIVERSIDGE. The Revd Linda Liversidge, formerly Priest-in-Charge of Willingham (Ely), to be part-time Assistant Curate of Jesus Church, Forty Hill (London).

MacDOUGALL. The Revd William MacDougall, formerly Priest-in-Charge of Bradley Stoke North Conventional District (Bristol), now Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of Penshurst and Fordcombe, and also of Chiddingstone with Chiddingstone Causeway (Rochester).

PASK. The Revd Victoria Pask, Canon Emeritus of Exeter Cathedral (Exeter), and formerly Chaplain of the Grey Coat Hospital School (London), to be Vicar of St Mark’s, Bromley (Rochester).

RATTENBERRY. The Revd Christopher Rattenberry, Priest-in-Charge of the Moorland Parishes (Danby with Castleton and Commondale, Westerdale, and Moorsholm) (York), to be Team Vicar in the Oakham Team Ministry, with responsibility for Braunston, Brooke, Hambleton and Egleton (Peterborough).

SMITH. The Revd Joanne Smith, Assistant Curate in the Horwich and Rivington Team Ministry (Manchester), to be Vicar of Euxton (Blackburn).

SMITH. The Revd Michael Smith, formerly Assistant Curate of Christ Church, Cheltenham, to be Vicar of Brockworth (Gloucester).

YEATES. The Revd James Yeates, Assistant Curate (Associate Vicar) of St Thomas with St Stephen, Telford Park (Southwark), to be Vicar of St Gabriel and St Michael, Cricklewood (London).
