Chichester archdeacon

THE next Archdeacon of Chichester is to be the Revd Luke Irvine-Capel, Rector of Christ Church and St Mary Magdalen with St Peter and Paul, St Leonards-on-Sea, and Interim Priest-in-Charge of St Clement with All Saints, Hastings.

Fr Irvine-Capel has served in Chichester diocese since 2013, when he was appointed Priest-in-Charge of Christ Church, St Leonards-on-Sea; he became Vicar the next year. He was licensed to St Clement with All Saints, Hastings, in 2017.

He and his wife, Ruth, a, teacher, have three children, aged 13, 12, and eight. He trained at Mirfield, and has served in Monmouth, Llandaff, and London dioceses.

BENHAM. The Revd Sandra Benham, Vicar of Baildon, and Area Dean of Aire and Worth, to be also Hon. Canon of Wakefield Cathedral (Leeds).

BUTCHER. The Revd Sallie Butcher, NSM of Mamble with Bayton, Rock with Heightington with Far Forest (Worcester), now Curate-in-Charge.

CANSDALE. The Revd Michael Cansdale, Team Rector in the Keighley Team Ministry, to be also Hon. Canon of Bradford Cathedral (Leeds).

CARTY. The Revd Heather Carty, Assistant Curate of Guilden Sutton (Chester), to be Vicar.

CLAYTON. The Revd Adam Clayton, Priest-in-Charge of Myddle and of Broughton, now Rector of Myddle, Vicar of Broughton, and Salop Archdeaconry Rural Officer, remaining Priest-in-Charge of Loppington with Newtown, and Rural Dean of Wem and Whitchurch (Lichfield).

FIRTH. The Revd Rachel Firth, Vicar of Lindley, and Huddersfield Episcopal Area Adviser for Women’s Ministry, to be also Hon. Canon of Wakefield Cathedral (Leeds).

GIBLIN. The Revd Brendan Giblin, Priest-in-Charge of Wetherby, to be also Hon. Canon of Ripon Cathedral (Leeds).

HOWLES. The Revd Gareth Howles, Assistant Curate of Burley in Wharfedale, now Assistant Curate of Morton and Riddlesden (Leeds).

JAMES. The Revd Veronica James, Rector of Holy Trinity, Skipton, to be also Hon. Canon of Ripon Cathedral (Leeds).

PEAT. The Revd Matthew Peat, Vicar of Whitkirk, and Area Dean of Whitkirk, to be also Hon. Canon of Ripon Cathedral (Leeds).
