New acting dean

CANON Peter Leonard, Chancellor of Portsmouth Cathedral, since 2014, is to be Acting Dean of Portsmouth Cathedral in Portsmouth diocese, from 1 August. Before his present appointment, he held curacies in Guildford diocese, from 1997.

New archdeacon

THE next Archdeacon of Hereford, in that diocese, is to be Canon Derek Chedzey, Director of Ordinands for Bristol diocese, Head of Ministry Development in the diocese, and Residentiary Canon of Bristol Cathedral, since 2015. Before his present appointments, he held posts in Bristol diocese from 2004, having served in Exeter and Oxford dioceses from 1993.

BAINBRIDGE. The Revd Phyllis Bainbridge, formerly Assistant Curate (Interim Minister) of Heath (Derby), to be Assistant Curate (Interim Minister) in the Hucknall Torkard Team Ministry (Southwell & Nottingham).

BATTEY. The Revd Alexander Battey, Vicar of Old Basing and Lychpit (Winchester), to be Chaplain to the Royal Artillery, Thorney Island (Portsmouth).

BOWKETT. The Revd Graham Bowkett, Rector of Upper Itchen, and Area Dean of Alresford (Winchester), to be Vicar of St Mary’s, Charlton Kings (Gloucester).

CAMPLING-DENTON. The Revd Camilla Campling-Denton, Priest-in-Charge of Forcett and Aldbrough and Melsonby (Leeds), to be Rector.

CARSON. The Revd Claire Carson, Chaplain to St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust (Southwark), now Lead Chaplain to the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (London).

CLARE. The Revd Johanna Clare, formerly Team Vicar in the Morden Team Ministry, and Diocesan Continuing Professional Development Officer (Southwark), to be Priest-in-Charge of Mawnan (Truro).

DEVADASON. The Revd Jacob Devadason, Vicar of Christ Church, Broad Green, Croydon (Southwark), to be Vicar of Heald Green (Chester).

DRACUP. The Revd John Dracup, Assistant Curate of St John the Baptist, Coley, to be Vicar of Christ the King, Meltham (Leeds).
