New archdeacon

THE next Archdeacon of Leicester is to be Canon Richard Worsfold, Vicar of the Martyrs’, Leicester, and Area Dean of the City of Leicester. He has served in Leicester diocese since his ordination in 1995. He will take up his new post in November.

 

Acting archdeacon

CANON Michael Johnson is now the Acting Archdeacon of Bristol. Before his appointment on 1 June, he had served in Bristol diocese from 1993 until 2017, most recently as Vicar of Wroughton, and an Hon. Canon of Bristol Cathedral. He was also Area Dean of Swindon, from 1999 to 2006, and Rural Dean of Wroughton, from 1997 to 1999.

 

Ossory changes

THE next Dean of Ossory, in Cashel & Ossory diocese, Rector of Kilkenny, Aghour and Kilmanagh, and Prebendary of St Laserian’s Cathedral, Leighlin, is to be the Revd David Macdonnell, Rector of Dunfanaghy, Raymunterdoney and Tullaghbegley in Derry & Raphoe diocese, since 2014. Before his present appointment, he was Assistant Curate of the Christ Church Cathedral Group, Dublin, in Dublin & Glendalough diocese, and Treasurer’s Vicar of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin.

The Ven. Andrew Orr, Archdeacon of Ossory and Leighlin, since 2014, Diocesan Registrar, since 2012, and Rector of Tullow with Shillelagh, Aghold and Mullinacuff, since 2009, is to be Priest-in-Charge of Youghal with Ardmore, Castlemartyr and Ballycotton, and Chaplain of Midleton College in the diocese of Cork, Cloyne & Ross.

 

ADENIRAN. The Revd Amy Adeniran, Assistant Curate of Shirley (Winchester), to be half-time Pioneer Minister of the Whiteley Conventional District (Portsmouth).

BORLEY. The Revd Dr Mark Borley, Vicar of St Francis of Assisi Local Ecumenical Project, Ruxley Lane, Ewell, now Interim Priest-in-Charge of St John’s, Stoneleigh (Guildford).

BOTTOMER. The Revd Sally Bottomer, Assistant Curate of Aston Clinton with Buckland and Drayton Beauchamp (Oxford), now Rector.

BRYSON. The Revd Victoria Bryson, Assistant Curate of the Transfiguration, Kempston, to be Rector of St John the Baptist and St Leonard, Bedford (St Albans).
