DIOCESE OF GUILDFORD

New Cranmer Hall Warden

THE Vicar of Claygate, Surrey, the Revd Dr Philip Plyming, has been appointed the next Warden of Cranmer Hall in St John’s College, Durham. He has served on the General Synod since 2009, and contributed to the Renewal and Reform programme as a member of the Simplification task group.

Bishop’s health update

THE Rt Revd Michael Perham, a former Bishop of Gloucester, has written to the diocese, confirming that he is “unlikely to survive a year”. Further surgery to treat his cancer has been ruled out. “I would prefer quality of life to length of days,” he wrote, in October. “There must be some challenging moments ahead, but I am still with Julian of Norwich, and ‘All shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.’”
