New archdeacon

THE new Archdeacon Pastor for Coventry diocese, from 2018, is to be the Revd Susan Field, Chaplain to the Queen since October 2017, Diocesan Director of Ordinands, and Hon. Canon of Leicester Cathedral, since 2004, and Vicar of Nanpantan, in Leicester diocese, since 2015. She was also Interim Acting Archdeacon of Loughborough, 2016-17, in that diocese, where she had held other posts since 1991.


Archdeacon moves

THE next Archdeacon of Surrey, in Guildford diocese, is to be the Ven. Paul Davies, Archdeacon of Bangor, in that diocese, since 2012. He was also Rector of Llanfair Mathafarn Eithaf with Llanbedrgoch with Pentraeth from 2012 to 2014. Before 2012, he had held posts in St Davids diocese.


ALEXANDER. The Revd Nancy Alexander, OLM Assistant Curate of St Mary’s, Droylsden, to be also part-time Chaplain of Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (Manchester).

ALLEN. The Revd Matthew Allen, Priest-in-Charge of Christ Church, Accrington, to be Director of Studies for the diocese and the All Saints’ Centre for Mission and Ministry (Blackburn).

ASHWORTH. The Revd Nigel Ashworth, Rector of St Ann’s, Manchester, to be also Hon. Canon of Manchester Cathedral (Manchester).

BAKER. The Revd Deborah Baker, NS Assistant Curate of St Mary Magdalene’s, Long Benton, to be NS Assistant Curate of Ulgham and of Widdrington (Newcastle).

BAKKER. The Revd Gregory Bakker, Vicar of Sholing, to be also Hon. Canon of Winchester Cathedral (Winchester).

BOOKER. The Revd Alison Booker, Acting Area Dean of Gartree First and Second, now Area Dean, remaining Vicar of the Coplow Benefice, and Warden of Pastoral Assistants (Leicester).

BUTCHER. The Revd Sallie Butcher, NS Assistant Curate of Teme Valley North and of Shrawley, Witley, Astley and Abberley, now NS Assistant Curate of the Wyre Forest West Benefice (Mamble with Bayton, Rock with Heightington with Far Forest) (Worcester).

COWELL. The Revd Irene Cowell, Priest-in-Charge of Emmanuel Church, Southport (Liverpool), to be Vicar of Arbory and Castletown, and Diocesan Director of Continuing Ministerial Education (Sodor & Man) (diocesan correction).


COUSANS. The Revd Joy Cousans, Vicar of Easton Bray with Edlesborough, to be also Bedford Archdeaconry Vocations Adviser (St Albans).

DALE. The Revd Christine Dale, Rector of the North West Hampshire Benefice, to be also Hon. Canon of Winchester Cathedral (Winchester).

EDGAR. The Revd Dr Orion Edgar, Assistant Curate of Holy Cross, Pershore, with Pinvin, Wick and Birlingham, to be Assistant Curate of Holy Trinity and St James, Malvern (Worcester).

FARMER. The Revd Robert Farmer, Team Rector designate in the Worcester South East Team Ministry, to be also Rector of St Martin with St Peter, Worcester (Worcester).

FOOT. The Revd Jeremy Foot, NS Assistant Curate of St James with St Barnabas, Enfield, to be NS Assistant Curate of St Mark’s, Bush Hill Park, and of St Stephen’s, Bush Hill Park (London).

GALLACHER. The Revd Owen Gallacher, Assistant Curate of St Nicholas, with All Saints and St Helen, Worcester (Worcester), to be Associate Priest.

GIBBS. The Revd Fiona Gibbs, Priest-in-Charge of St Luke’s, Hedge End, and Area Dean of Eastleigh, to be also Hon. Canon of Winchester Cathedral (Winchester).

GLENNY. The Revd Robert Glenny, Assistant Curate of Marston with Elsfield, now Rector of Radley with Sunningwell and Kennington (Oxford).

HARLOW. The Revd Richard Harlow, Rector of Tadley with Pamber Heath and Silchester, and Area Dean of Basingstoke, to be also Hon. Canon of Winchester Cathedral (Winchester).

HARRIS. The Revd John Harris, formerly half-time Priest-in-Charge of Luddenden with Luddenden Foot (Wakefield), to be Interim house-for-duty Priest-in-Charge of Woolley (Leeds).

HAWKINS. The Revd Steven Hawkins, formerly Vicar of St Martin’s, Knowle, now Priest-in-Charge of the Holy Nativity, Knowle (Bristol).

MANN. The Revd Rachel Mann, Priest-in-Charge of St Nicholas’s, Burnage, to be also Hon. Canon of Manchester Cathedral (Manchester).

MASTERS. The Revd Vivien Masters, Assistant Curate of Allerton Bywater, Kippax and Swillington, to be Team Vicar in the Leverhulme Team Ministry (Manchester).

OXTOBY. The Revd David Oxtoby, Vicar of Sutton Bridge and Tydd St Mary (Lincoln), to be Team Rector in the Rayleigh Team Ministry (Chelmsford).

SALISBURY. The Revd Peter Salisbury, Vicar of Lymington and Area Dean of Lyndhurst, to be also Hon. Canon of Winchester Cathedral (Winchester).

SHEARD. The Revd Andrew Sheard, Team Rector in the Uxbridge Team Ministry (London), to be Rector of Warblington with Emsworth (Portsmouth) (correction).

SMEETON. The Revd Nicholas Smeeton, Vicar of Coldhurst and Oldham St Stephen and All Martyrs and Associate Diocesan Director of Ordinands for Rochdale archdeaconry, to be also Hon. Canon of Manchester Cathedral (Manchester).

STERRY. The Revd Susan Sterry, NS Assistant Curate of St Andrew’s, Great Ilford, now NS Assistant Curate (Associate Priest) of Holy Cross, Hornchurch (Chelmsford).

STOBER. The Revd Jacqueline Stober, Vicar of Denton (Newcastle), to be Priest-in-Charge of All Saints’, Mackworth, of Kirk Langley, and of Mugginton and Kedleston, and Area Dean of Duffield and Langford (Derby) (correction).

THAKE. The Revd Helen Thake, formerly Chaplain of HM Prison Foston Hall, now Chaplain of HM Prison Sudbury (Derby).
